For rent lovely three story apartment in The Hague with eight rooms devided over three floors, more than 200 m2 and high ceilings, the house is ideal for an expat family. It is located on the Regentesselaan, close to the Peace Palace, halfway between the center of The Hague and the city’s beaches, near the international zone and conveniently close to public transportation.

The house has five bedrooms, a study, a living room, a dining room with open kitchen, a cloakroom, one large bathroom, one shower cabin, three toilets and a large balcony facing southwest. Built in 1893, most original details are preserved, such as stained-glass (inside and outside), wooden floors throughout the house, plaster-cast ceilings and other period details.
It is situated on the first, second and top floor of a stately townhouse. There are eight solar panels and a solar boiler on the roof, keeping energy costs down.
The maintenance of the house will be taken care of by an architect / contractor living in the vicinity, on behalf of the owner. The owner strongly recommends the services of their very trusted and extremely efficient cleaning lady.

The Regentesselaan is a broad and leafy street with ample parking opportunities. Our house is located between the main throughfare Laan van Meerdervoort (tram lines 3 and 11) and the Weimarstraat, while the city center is at ten minutes cycling distance.

This neighborhood is fashionable among young urban professionals. For shopping one has the choice bewteen the Weimarstraat and the Reinkenstraat with their bohemien allure or the upmarket artisanal bakeries, butcheries and groceries both within 5 min walking distance. Many playgrounds, little traffic, greenery and clean sea breezes makes this area particularly great for children.

Lay-out;

One enters from the street into a small hallway where one can leave a bicycle and/or baby stroller. A second front door leads into the house. One climbs the stairs to get to the main hallway.

First floor;
Ceilings of 3m20! Passage leads to a small (6m2) room on the streetside, toilet with a small washing basin, kitchen on the rear, and the living and dining rooms, which are ‘en suite’, meaning they can be separated by sliding doors (decorated with the original stained glass from 1893). The ensuite rooms on the rear side and on the street side, measure 30 and 24 square meters respectively. On either side of the sliding doors are built-in shelves. The floor of both rooms was fully renovated with oak boards, and all the ceilings have intricate plaster-cast motives. All stone mantelpieces are original (but the fireplaces are not active). An elegant bay window overlooks the street.

The kitchen (13 m2) is equipped with a Siemens combined oven/grill & microwave, five gas burners, extractor, dishwasher, a refrigerator and a freezer. There’s ample shelf space, open and behind doors.

Second floor;
Ceiling height of 2m84. Study/library (20 m2), with many book shelves, original wooden floor, and deep in-built closets.

On the front side of the house there are two bedrooms, a big one (23 m2) and a small one (6 m2). In the large room there is a large built-in closet with shelf space on three sides, another built-in closet and french windows leading to a small balcony on the street side.
On the rearside, overlooking the gardens between the houses, is a big balcony/terrace (12 m2) facing West, which catches sun from noon onwards, in all seasons. The balcony is protected from most winds.

There’s a toilet on every floor of the house. On the second floor there is also a pantry equipped with a sink and quite a lot of shelf space behind doors. The pantry has its own access to the balcony/terrace.
On the third floor there is a shower cabin next to the toilet.

Third floor;
Ceiling height 3m10! Bedroom (17 m2) with two big wardrobes integrated into the walls, in which many clothes can be stored. On the rear of the house is another large (17 m2) bedroom with a bay window overlooking the greenery.

The access to this bedroom is through the bathroom (8 m2), where besides a good tub there is a washing machine and a tumble-dryer and a big washing basin. There is also a lot of storage space in this bathroom.

Small bedroom (8m2) on the top floor with an adjacent toilet/shower and a washbasin with integrated mirror, shelves and cupboard.
